Convening for Change in the U.S. Electricity Sector
In the United States, Charge convenes an action-oriented group of member companies focused on expanding supply options for large-scale renewable energy purchasing in partnership with utilities.
Since 2013, leading corporate players have collaborated with WRI to create innovative renewable energy tariffs and transactions. The impact has been dramatic with momentum growing in more than a dozen states today.
Charge members engage with utilities, regulators and Governor’s offices in priority states to achieve renewable energy supply goals and overall greening of the grid.
Developing Business Models
Charge members shape the future of renewable energy products (i.e. tariffs) that utilities are motivated to offer commercial and industrial buyers in priority states/regions.
Charge members team with WRI experts to deploy proven business and regulatory models which can be replicated across the country.
WRI amplifies the buyer voice through a well-coordinated communications and outreach strategy that engages members and leverage the group's impact.
The Charge team works closely with Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance (REBA) partners to create a high-impact annual event and offer opportunities for communications across a broad network of clean energy professionals. The alliance is committed to delivering 60 GW of additional renewable energy in the U.S. by 2025.
