Read the press release: Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance Forms to Power the Corporate Movement to Renewable Energy

WASHINGTON (MAY 9, 2016)– Companies across the United States want to power their operations with renewable energy, but navigating the path to renewables is harder than it should be. A new coalition of NGOs will help to break through barriers by working with utilities and companies to unlock electricity markets for cost-effective, renewable power at scale.

A press teleconference on Thursday, May 12 will introduce the Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance (REBA), which aims to help facilitate and deploy 60 GW of new corporate renewable energy capacity by 2025. Energy experts from Facebook, Invenergy, Microsoft and World Resources Institute will discuss the problems companies face and how Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance will help scale up renewables on the grid.

The four non-profit organizations leading Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance are the Rocky Mountain Institute’s Business Renewable Center, World Resources Institute and World Wildlife Fund. Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance founding members are Facebook and Microsoft.
