Sidewalk Labs, an Alphabet company, was founded on the belief that digital technology will change in cities dramatically, and that if technology is developed with a deep understanding of cities, it can change them for the better. From ride-sharing to computer vision to autonomous vehicles, the question will be whether digital technology does more to make density, and cities, more attractive or less. Rohit Aggarwala, Co-Head of Labs at Sidewalk, will describe how the company is reimagining cities from the internet, its current and planned initiatives, and his personal observations on how technology might make urban density more or less attractive.
