On April 23, WRI hosted a webinar on our recent paper, Clearing the Air: Reducing Upstream Greenhouse Gas Emissions from U.S. Natural Gas Systems.

This new study looks to clarify what is known about fugitive emissions of methane, a potent greenhouse gas, from the U.S. natural gas sector; what progress has been made to reduce those emissions; and what more can be done to further reduce leakage.

Lead authors James Bradbury and Michael Obeiter reviewed the working paper and its key findings, with particular attention on state-level policy solutions. Other speakers included Sue Tierney from the Analysis Group, and Amy Royden-Bloom from the National Association of Clean Air Agencies.

This webinar paid particular attention to state-level policy solutions, and provided the opportunity for remote audience members to ask questions.
