The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global policy-making body dedicated exclusively to gender equality and advancement of women. This year's themes include:

  • The empowerment of rural women and their role in poverty and hunger eradication, development and current challenges

  • Financing for gender equality and the empowerment of women (agreed conclusions from the fifty-second session)

  • Engaging young women and men, girls and boys, to advance gender equality

World Resources Institute and Landesa - partners in the creation of Focus on Land in Africa, an online education tool featuring lessons learned on land tenure and property rights issues - will be attending this year's commission.

The CSW will touch on a number of topics relevant to telling compelling stories intersecting gender, land, agriculture, and poverty. We look forward to gathering these stories and encourage attendees to submit their lessons learned to us.

For more details on how to make submissions, contact focusonland@wri.org.
