Please join us as WRI launches the CCS Regulatory Matrix. This online tool features a technical comparison between different Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage (CCS) national and international regulatory frameworks.

The tool is designed to enable a decision-maker (regulator, legislator, researcher, or industry representative) to quickly see how different frameworks deal with key issues like site selection/characterization requirements and long term liability. Our hope is that by highlighting the similarities and differences among frameworks we will ultimately be able to help define how CCS regulations can be improved.

The event will be held at the WRI office in Washington, D.C., on April 12th, with remote participation enabled via phone and web for those unable to join in person. We are expecting media and stakeholders from our previous CCS work to attend the event at WRI.

The agenda for the event is as follows:

Thursday, April 12th

  • 3:30-3:45 Welcome and introductions
  • 3:45-4:00 CCS deployment
  • 4:00-4:15 Presentation on the CCS Regulatory Matrix
  • 4:15-5:00 Panel discussion
  • 5:00-5:30 Reception and networking

If you plan to attend, please send an email with your name and affiliation by April 10th to Viviane Romeiro. Please specify in your reply if you will be unable to attend in person and would like to participate remotely. We will send a follow-up email with information for remote participants.
