Measurement and Performance Tracking Workshop

The World Resources Institute will be hosting a workshop focused on measuring and tracking greenhouse gas emissions on Sunday, December 2nd in Doha, Qatar. The workshop, which is scheduled to take place on the sidelines of COP 18, will include a discussion on the capacities needed for developing a national GHG inventory, as well as a session to receive feedback on WRI’s draft mitigation accounting guidelines, which aim to quantify the emissions reductions associated with policies, actions and goals.

4:00 PM – 6:30 PM	Session 2: Capacity Building for National GHG Inventories
	A discussion around common capacity constraints in non-Annex 1 countries. Presentations from non-Annex 1 countries around national experiences in for example initiating and sustaining a national inventory system, coordination by the lead agency and developing an emissions inventory for the LULUCF sector. Recommendations for capacity building efforts.
