How can we create an Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) framework that will contribute to equitable and environmentally effective mitigation? What kinds of metrics and institutional arrangements will support these objectives?
MRV has emerged as a central issue in international climate negotiations. WRI was one of the first organizations to conduct analysis on MRV, and continues to offer a unique and important perspective, drawing on our expertise in governance issues and GHG metrics.
This side event on MRV will serve as a platform to highlight new analysis on MRV, specifically on the strengths and limits of current MRV institutions and the prospective roles of new ones.
