Governance of Forests and REDD: A New Framework for Progress

Deforestation is as much an issue of poor governance—the processes, policies, and laws by which forest management decisions are made—as it is an issue of misaligned economic incentives. WRI will present a draft framework of indicators and diagnostic questions for measuring, assessing and improving governance of forests in developing countries, followed by a high level discussion about the importance of forest governance in the context of international climate policy.
