BANGKOK (July 25, 2016) – On July 26, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) will host a press conference to launch a new social marketing campaign promoting motorcycle helmet use and a presentation of findings from the Cities Safer by Design report.
WASHINGTON (July 22, 2016) - Today in Bonn, Germany, Barbara Hendricks, Germany’s Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, is convening the inaugural meeting of a high-level international initiative to protect forests: the Global Restoration Council. The Council is made up of members from governments, civil society, and the private sector. This is the Council’s first official meeting.
2015 was a watershed year. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted at a special summit of the UN General Assembly, and the new international climate agreement concluded in Paris in December, provide for the first time in history a set of strong frameworks for accelerated action by all to meet shared and ambitious climate protection and sustainable development goals.

Washington, D.C. (June 28, 2016) – The World Resources Institute (WRI) announced today that Dr. Liz Goodwin will join the organization as Senior Fellow and Director, Food Loss and Waste. Dr. Goodwin will advance WRI’s efforts to encourage countries and companies to measure and monitor food loss and waste, engage the public and private sectors to implement solutions, and further build partnerships for action.
PARIS and WASHINGTON, 21st June 2016 – The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) has agreed to join Champions 12.3, a coalition of leaders from governments, businesses, farmer groups, and civil society organisations dedicated to inspire ambition, mobilise action, and accelerate progress toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Target 12.3 by 2030. The move follows the CGF’s 2015 resolution to halve food waste and reaffirms its commitment to help tackle food waste globally.
WASHINGTON (June 8, 2016)— World Resources Institute finds that analyzing the forests and plantations near palm oil mills can help identify deforestation risk and prevent it. Launched today on Global Forest Watch Commodities, the new PALM Risk Tool will help companies meet their zero deforestation commitments by providing much-needed transparency into the sustainability of the palm oil they buy.
